This process repeats again with Ralis needing your help as well as 3,000 gold (there is another phase requiring 5,000 gold, but we're not concerned with that). Once it's clear, Ralis will ask for an additional 2,000 gold to hire more miners. After a few days a courier will bring you a message from Ralis asking you to stop by the excavation has run into Draugr and needs your help in clearing them out. For 1,000 gold he'll hire some miners to help him. Southeast of Raven Rock, you'll find a lone Dunmer named Ralis excavating a Ruin that's buried in ash. This is the hard part, because you're going to need 6,000 gold, and you'll need to be able to kill a few Draugr Deathlords, but you can get this spell as early as you can reach Solstheim. Incinerate on the other hand deals 105 damage per cast, costing 149 magicka per cast (.7 damage per magicka spent). Let's compare Ignite to Incinerate, the Expert-level fire projectile spell: with perks, Ignite deals a total of 315 damage per cast for only 15 magicka (21 damage for every magicka spent). With this setup, that 4 damage per second becomes 21 per second. Due to a bug, the Aspect of Terror perk increases all fire damage by 10 points (even more if AoT is taken before Augmented Flames). The trick to maxing out this Destruction spell is actually hidden in the Illusion tree. The spell also stacks, so if you quickly shoot someone with 2 dual-casts, they'll be taking ~1200 damage over 15 seconds! On its own, that's not very special, but with the right perks this spell becomes capable of dealing 315 damage over 15 seconds, more than double that if dual-cast. Ignite is an apprentice-level fire spell that deals 4 damage per second for 15 seconds for a total of 60 damage.

Hey, everyone! I just wanted to put this information out there for anyone playing a Destruction-Mage who finds the spells lackluster or who struggles with Magicka management.
